Meet The Team

You don't have to stop playing to build something great.

We're working professionals who love sports but lost our games to work, traffic and routine. So we're building StapuBox: a space to get active, meet players and play anytime.

Meet Shubham

Shubham Raj Agrawal is part of the team building StapuBox, a platform designed to make sports more accessible, engaging, and easier to discover. With a vision to simplify tournament management and connect players, organisers, and sporting communities, he is helping build a more connected sports ecosystem where discovering opportunities to play and managing sporting events becomes seamless.

Through StapuBox, he aims to help grassroots sports grow by making participation easier and creating more opportunities for people to compete, connect, and experience the joy of sport.

If someone says, “Let’s organise a tournament,” I want StapuBox to help them make it happen. And when it ends, I want the players asking, “When are we playing next?”

Every sports tournament I’ve been part of has had a few passionate people doing all the heavy lifting. Getting registrations, collecting payments, making draws, managing schedules and answering endless questions on WhatsApp. By the end, organising the next one feels like too much work.

We want to change that with StapuBox. If an institution - a society, company or organiser - wants to run a tournament, the effort involved should not hold them back. We’re making that entire journey easier, from registrations to results.

For me, there’s a personal reason behind this. I’ve been playing badminton for years, but finding people to play with has often been a struggle. After joining InfoEdge, it took me seven or eight months to connect with colleagues who were already playing. Moving to Greater Noida meant figuring it out all over again in my own society.

And I’ve seen so many people stop playing after college. They still love the sport, but their group scatters, work takes over, and getting back keeps getting postponed.

A tournament gives them a reason to come out and play again. They meet someone across the court who lives in the next tower or works in another team. Now they have someone to play with next weekend. That’s how we see the sports network growing.

Over the next five years, I want organisers to run more tournaments without burning themselves out, players to find their sporting circle, and communities to keep playing throughout the year.

The goal is simple: less time figuring out how to play, and more time actually playing.

StapuBox started with a problem I personally experienced.

Back in 2014, when I moved to Noida for my first job, sports was my stress buster. But finding a place to play, finding people to play with, and even getting basic information about local games was surprisingly difficult.

I remember searching online for badminton courts and players, with very limited results. I eventually went to a court, not knowing anyone there. That one decision changed things. Strangers became playing partners, and eventually a WhatsApp group. People from completely different professions were connected simply because they loved the same sport.

Years later, I met Navin Kumar on a badminton court. We played against each other in a tournament, became friends, and eventually started discussing an idea around the same problem.

That was the starting point for StapuBox.

We want to make sports easier to discover and participate in whether you are a player looking for a game, an organiser trying to run a tournament, or someone simply looking to become part of a sports community.

Over the next five years, I want StapuBox to help make sports a more regular part of people's lives in India. Not just by helping people find a court or tournament, but by building stronger connections between players, organisers, coaches, venues and communities.

We are still early, but seeing StapuBox move from an idea born from a personal problem to something people can actually use is incredibly exciting.
