StapuBox ("we," "our," "us") is committed to protecting the privacy and security of the personal information of our users ("you," "your"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our platform, mobile application, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). By accessing or using our Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information to provide better services and improve user experience. The types of information we collect include:

Personal Identification Information

• Name, email address, phone number, date of birth, gender, profile photo
• Residence, workplace, and preferred playgrounds (as optionally provided by you during registration or later in your profile)
• Note: Currently, registration is available only with Indian mobile numbers. International numbers are not supported in this version.

Sports Preferences and Profile Data

Information about the sports you play or coach, skill levels, team preferences, medals, awards, and other profile-related data.

User Content

Any content you upload, such as photos, videos, profiles, and communications with other users.

Contacts Information

With your permission, we may access your phone contacts to help you find and invite friends on StapuBox. You may choose to share specific contacts or all contacts.

Technical Information

IP address, device type, operating system, and usage statistics collected automatically when you use our Services. We do not collect device identifiers such as IMEI, Android ID, or advertising ID in this version of the app.

Location Information

Precise location (GPS) obtained with your consent to provide localized services such as finding nearby players, coaches, and venues.

Payment Information

Currently, StapuBox does not process payments or collect financial information. If payments or subscriptions are introduced in future updates, payment details will be handled securely via trusted third-party gateways.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the StapuBox platform and its features
• Facilitate connections between players, coaches, and venues
• Verify and authenticate user identities to ensure a trusted community
• Personalize user experience by recommending matches, groups, and events
• Help you find and invite friends through your contacts (with your permission)
• Communicate with you regarding your account, updates, promotions, and support
• Analyze usage patterns to improve the functionality and performance of our Services
• Comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes

3. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information in the following circumstances:

• With Your Consent: Sharing with entities when you explicitly instruct us to do so
• Service Providers: With trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating the platform, such as cloud hosting services, under confidentiality agreements
• Legal Requirements: When required by law, court order, or government authority
• Safety and Security: To protect the rights, property, or safety of StapuBox, our users, or the public
• Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets

4. Security of Your Information

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include encryption, secure servers, access controls, and regular security assessments.

5. Your Rights and Choices

• You can access, update, or delete your profile and personal information through your account settings
• You may opt-out of receiving promotional communications by following the unsubscribe instructions in those messages
• You can control location and contact sharing settings on your device
• Requests to access, correct, or delete your data can be sent to our support team

6. Data Retention

We retain your information only as long as necessary to provide the Services and fulfill the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

When you delete your account, all associated personal data and content are permanently deleted from our servers, unless we are legally required to retain it.

How to Delete Your Account and Data

Users can delete their data directly from within the app while logged in. To do this, navigate to Settings → Delete My Account. Clicking this option will open a feedback pop-up where you can optionally share your reason for deletion. Once you confirm, your delete request is processed instantly. All your data is permanently and irreversibly deleted from StapuBox servers (“hard delete”), and you will be redirected to the login screen. To access the app again, you must create a new account.

7. Children’s Privacy

Our Services are not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. Minors aged 13–18 are encouraged to use the Services under parental guidance.

8. International Users

If you are accessing StapuBox from outside India, please be aware of the following:

• Registration is currently limited to users with Indian phone numbers.
• International users may explore public-facing parts of the app, but cannot register for accounts until global registration support is added in future releases.
• All information is transferred to, stored, and processed in India, where our servers and central database are located.

9. Applicable Laws

Our collection, storage, processing, and transfer of your personal information are governed by applicable Indian laws and regulations, including but not limited to:

• Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011 under the Information Technology Act, 2000
• The evolving Data Protection Act and Rules in India (including provisions from the Personal Data Protection Bill, as applicable)
• The Indian Contract Act, 1872, for terms of service and user agreements
• The Consumer Protection Act, 2019, for user rights and grievance redressal
• Other applicable laws relevant to electronic communications and consumer rights

10. Use of Cookies

Our Services are mobile-first, but if you use StapuBox via our website, cookies may be placed on your browser. Cookies are small identifiers that allow us to recognize your device and improve user experience. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though this may impact certain features.

Note: The mobile app does not use cookies, but may use equivalent technologies for performance and security.

11. Links to Third-Party Sites

Our Services may contain links to third-party websites or services (for example, payment gateways or social networking sites). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. Any data you provide to such third-party sites will be governed by their privacy policies, not ours.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on the platform and updating the effective date. Your continued use of the Services after changes constitute acceptance of the updated policy.
